Are Love Leaf teas 100% natural?

Yes. Every ingredient is a real botanical — a leaf, flower, root, or spice. We use no artificial flavours, colourings, preservatives, anti-caking agents, or synthetic sweeteners. Natural means the opposite of artificial, and we stand behind that.

Are your teas organic?

We don't currently hold blanket organic certification. We hold supplier documentation for every ingredient including pesticide use and country of origin statements. Natural means free from artificial additives — not the same as organic.

Where do you source your teas?

Accepted Answer

Black and green teas come from Sri Lanka, China, and Japan — including Sencha from Shizuoka and Gyokuro-grade teas for our Izu Matcha. Herbal botanicals come from Europe, South Africa, and the UK. Our rooibos is sourced exclusively from the Cederberg region of South Africa — the only place in the world where true Cederberg rooibos grows.

Do your teas contain allergens?

Vanilla & Almond Rooibos contains almond pieces. Our blending facility handles a range of botanicals and spices — while we clean between batches, we cannot guarantee a fully allergen-free environment. Is your packaging plastic-free

Yes. Our pouches are kraft paper-based with a foil inner layer — no plastic outer film. Labels and seals are produced by UK-based suppliers. We are actively working toward fully compostable packaging across our full range.

How do I brew loose leaf tea?

Accepted Answer

Use 1 heaped teaspoon (2–3g) per cup. Green and white teas: 70–80°C for 2–3 minutes. Black and herbal teas: 95–100°C for 3–5 minutes. Use an infuser or strainer and remove the leaves before they over-steep to avoid bitterness.

What temperature should I brew green tea at?

70–80°C — not boiling. Boiling water makes green tea taste bitter and grassy. Let freshly boiled water cool for 3–5 minutes, or use a temperature-controlled kettle. Steep for 2–3 minutes.

Can I reuse loose leaf tea leaves?

Yes — green, white, and oolong teas can be steeped 2–3 times and often reveal different flavour notes with each infusion. Black teas and fruit infusions are best enjoyed in a single brew.
