There are two types of people in the world. Tea lovers and coffee lovers. Yes, OK, some people like both, but even they usually have a favourite. Now if you’re here, reading this, chances are you’re a tea person. And one of the biggest challenges us tea people face is: where are all the coffee alternatives?

Coffee is consumed the world over for its energy-boosting effects. But what are the options for tea lovers who need a quick pick-me-up?

Black Tea

One 230ml cup of black tea contains 41mg of caffeine. That isn’t much less than the 55.4mg of caffeine you’d find in a cup of instant coffee the same size. And as black tea is the most commonly consumed (in the UK, at least!), it’s an easy peasy trade-off.

Like coffee, black tea is also incredibly diverse. Add milk, take it black, make chai. There’s lots of way to drink it! On top of that, there’s also the added oral and heart health benefits that come with drinking black tea. So take a cup in the morning to beat your coffee blues!

 

Ginger

 Ginger provides a wonderful and invigorating herbal boost, all without the caffeine. It stimulates the mind and helps make us feel active and positively fizzing with energy.
